I’ve decided to focus my collecting elsewhere so I’m letting this jewel move to another home. This is an early 1909 Argentine Mauser made in Germany by DWM with all matching numbers, including the cleaning rod, receiver, bolt, trigger group, and stock. It’s in really nice condition and I’d call the bore VG (but I really don't see anything wrong with it.) The bolt and receiver are in the white, just as it was when it left the factory. The action is unbelievably smooth and it feeds cartridges like butter! The Argentine crest is unmolested and present on the receiver and the bayonet. The bayonet serial matches the scabbard serial. The adapter to mount the 1891 bayonet is mounted and included. The sling is an original Argentine from that time period. The caliber is “7.65 Argentine”, also known as 7.65x53, but sometimes referred to as 7.65x54. (The truth is that it is actually 7.65x53.5, but the Argentine govt rounded up to x54.) I have 150 rounds of milsurp Argentine ammo, with one box of 15 rounds on stripper clips included in this deal. It also includes an original brass muzzle cover. (It is spring loaded so push in and twist to remove.) I'm not prepared to ship at this time and would prefer a face-to-face transaction in or around Jacksonville, Florida, as this is truly a work of art and should be held and the “butter smooth bolt” worked to truly appreciate the pre-WW1 craftsmanship. I will let this jewel go for $800 cash or possible trade for a Winchester or Eddystone M1917. As mentioned above, the remaining 9 boxes of boxed ammo on stripper clips can be purchased for an additional $100. Contact me if you’re interested AND are in Florida. Thanks for looking!
