This rare "Type I" rifle was made by Beretta for the Japanese Navy in 1939 based on the Type 38 rifle and came from the estate of a WW2 veteran who brought it home from Japan in 1946. Based on it's condition, it looks to have been stored in a warehouse for the most of the war and saw little use (see photo.) The bore is pristine and the bolt action is smooth. The kicker is that it actually includes the ORIGINAL WW2 Japanese leather sling - at least a $250 value by itself! This rifle would be a great addition to a WW2 collection and is safe to fire! More photos are available, or better yet, come see it for yourself. If you really want a complete WW2 collector rifle, I can also include the bayonet and scabbard he brought back for an extra $100. The terms are FTF Cash transaction near Kernan and Atlantic Blvd in Jacksonville. Buyer must be at least 21 and show proof of FL residency.
