Just like it says on the tin. It’s everything you’d expect from an EOtech EXPS3, with the exception of the 68 moa ring in the reticle. It’s solely the 1moa dot. It gets very very bright, I believe 20 brightness settings, and interestingly, these dots aren’t actually 1moa; they’re significantly smaller, but our eyes cannot resolve that, so we see it as 1moa.

The context where you can really take advantage of this is when using a magnifier. Place a 3x magnifier behind a regular LED red dot, say a high end model with an ultra crisp 2 moa dot. Now, under the magnifier, the dot is 6 moa, but the rest of the world through the magnifier is also 3 times bigger, so the ratio is unchanged.

With the EXPS3-1? Well, that dot is so small in actuality, that when you flip down that 3x magnifier, while the rest of the world gets 3x bigger? The dot stays the same. So you now have the equivalent of a 1/3 or 0.3 moa dot, aka a much finer reticle capable of significantly more precision. Flip the magnifier back? You’ve got one of the best looking red dots possible, and typically unchanged by most types of astigmatism as well, due to the way the dot is actually being generated. Very cool indeed, but I’m afraid that the red dot/ magnifier option is less and less my thing as time goes by.

PS - As you can see, it has an extremely wide range of brightness settings, as well as excellent light transmission for passive aiming under night vision. I included the most obnoxious of the POV pix to demonstrate just how bright it can get (bright enough to be incoherent on a digitally captured imagine of it, and frankly brighter than you would ever conceivably need). Thankfully, with so many brightness settings it’s easy to find the one you’re looking for.
