WTS: 1943 O.F. Mossberg & Sons Model 44US (Military) Bolt-Action Target Training Rifle – Sarasota, FL – Willing to Ship



Background:
This 44US came from the 3rd production run of 10,380 rifles from the Rock Island Arsenal in Illinois. Issued to the U.S. Navy. U.S. Ordnance rack number 57. It was sold through the U.S. ORD on May 1, 1943 (Contract # W478-ORD-3675). It left the factory with blued finish then in 1964 received by the military a parkerized arsenal refinish. Every one of these rifles was thoroughly examined, inside and out, by a U.S. Army Ordnance armorer before they had been released to the certified CMP armorers who reexamined the rifles before they could be signed off and released for sale. This rifle was first inspected at the CMP Armory in Anniston, AL Store in Port Clinton, OH. It was purchased from CMP on March 5, 2001 and it shipped out of the CMP North store in Ohio. It has not been fired since.

Condition: Used. The stock is in good condition with 3 original dings on the right side of the forestock, 1 original ding on the right side of the stock, and 1 original ding on the left side of the grip cap. Fortunately, no customary “CMP Box Knife” scratches on the sides. The metal is excellent with no visible dings or scratches. Bore is bright and shiny with crisp lands.

I listed the return policy as "AS IS - No 1, 2 or 3-day inspection period, no refund or exchange" simply because I don't want this rifle returned to me when it got damaged at your FFL dealer's shop or in your hands. I won't let this rifle leave my sight. You are more than welcome to come to Sarasota, FL and inspect the rifle.



PPT has to be processed through an FFL dealer (no exceptions regardless whether CCW holder, active/qualified retired LEO, active military or veterans).

I will cooperate in every reasonable manner in the event of any incident that may require submission of an insurance claim associated with shipping.
