This shotgun is in excellent condition and comes with the lever safety (which was recalled by Franchi but is sought after by collectors) and a folding stock. The SPAS-12 is a gas-operated, semi-automatic shotgun that can also be used as a pump-action. Originating from Italy, "SPAS" stands for Sporting Purpose Automatic Shotgun, though it was initially designed for military and law enforcement use. It proved effective as a law enforcement shotgun, though it wasn’t commonly used as a standard patrol shotgun. Instead, it found its way into the hands of specialized military and police units. The SPAS-12 was sold globally, particularly in Europe and the USA, where it was also marketed as a civilian shotgun, though it was later banned in many countries.
