July 1943 receiver date, Springfield M1 Garand. This rifle was purchased as a rack grade weapon, and modified as follows: Douglas .308 barrel. National match front and rear sights and op rod. Trigger modified by Fulton Armory to service rifle competition specs (4.5#). New Boyd stock. Never used in competition, I just wanted as close to a MOA gun as I could get without a second mortgage. I've put about 300 rounds through it before I racked it and switched to a M1a. Been in my safe for a decade. Now that my eyes don't like open sights anymore, and I have no kids to hand it down to, I figure I'd sell it to someone who will appreciate it.
It's a beautiful rifle and an excellent shooter. I put a lot into it, and the price reflects that.
