The one and only contender to EOtech, and EOtech’s latest disaster-whatever reticle is a direct copy of the UH-1. The circle is broken up/ segmented so it takes up less of your target picture, and while some people may be aware that the bottom of the EOtech circle reticle is intended as a 7yd holdover for accuracy in close quarters, the UH-1 cleverly uses a standalone triangle shape that serves the same purpose, while drawing your eye SO much better, and giving you an unambiguous, direct secondary holdover reticle for that 7yd shot, rather than just guessing “yeah it’s somewhere down here at the bottom of the circle.” That might not work so well if you’re in an unorthodox shooting position and you can’t tell where the perfect bottom of the circle is.
Another great feature of the UH-1 are the absolutely huge buttons for illumination up/down, and night vision mode (yes, it does that too). If you’ve ever tried to change the brightness settings on an EOtech with gloves on, you’ll understand the benefit of these buttons immediately.
