Winchester Model 52B Target Bolt Action Rifle with Eric Johnson 5 Star 8 Barrel (dated 12/4/52).
This Winchester 52B stock has been nicely refinished - rifle appears to be in overall good condition.
EJ Barrels have a great reputation and are still sought after by collectors and shooters. Eric Johnson was a Hamden CT RF barrel maker of the famous 5 Star 8 barrels and he only did RF work.
I have owned this rifle for over 25 years and only shot it a few times - I never shot it at a distance for group but assume with the right ammo and adjusting or removing the barrel band would produce great results.
